Dyslexia  Thailand opened in 2013/2014 and is enjoying developing its services for the second year. We are a center that provides an educational service, whilst also offering support and guidance to parents and schools who require information on where to find appropriate assessment services and specialist support for children who are struggling in areas of literacy.  (Click here to learn about our Services)

 

Dyslexia Thailand qualified, Orton Gillingham  tutors  plan and implement individual programs to support struggling readers and/or writers. Dyslexia Thailand also offers the first full time dyslexia program in South East Asia based in Berkeley International School Bangkok, Thailand. The Orton Gillingham approach has been effectively used as a literacy intervention for over 70 years, it is evidence based, multi-sensory, cumulative and sequential. This method ensures students are learning literacy in a manner that is explicit and engaging for all learner styles, it also embodies over learning to support working memory whilst continually challenging students with new concepts, building the learning of language into meaningful experiences that facilitate automaticity of the English Language. The advantage of a full time dyslexia program is that the skills learned during the specialist literacy program are continually reinforced across all subjects. This allows the transfer of knowledge to all areas of the curriculum. The students also have specialist teachers for language, arts, math, science and social studies. The student is engaged in a multi-sensory class setting ensuring they are learning in a style that suits their learning needs, giving them the opportunity to achieve and succeed in a safe and nurturing environment.
